2 Free Transfers and a Loan
So only money spent on wages so far with 10 days to go to the start of the season.

I expect Fordstar to blame Noble for this and I expect some knicker wetting replies that D&G are doing a shit job this year. Personally I think we have done some good business but desperatly require a classy forward if Sakho is going.

your thoughts please WHO'ers

Re: 2 Free Transfers and a Loan
Fordy is currently in the same lock up as Croe, so no need to worry about his opinion at the moment anyway.

Very underwhelming transfer activity so far, but seeing as Lanzini turned into a right peach when we'd never heard of him, hopefully someone else may surprise us.

If played in the correct position!!

Re: 2 Free Transfers and a Loan
Personally, I love free transfers and loans with options to buy when it is for players that improve on whoever they have replaced. I can't think of anything better.

There are still some who seem to think this is a bad thing. I'm still not quite sure why.

I was thinking that we'd been a bit slow in the market, but it seems like we are doing ok compared to most. Still think we need to do more and quick too.

Re: 2 Free Transfers and a Loan
Frees are not really free. I would guess the fees involved in each are somewhere in the £5-10m mark. Loans are also not free, in Tore's case somewhere in the £2.5-5m mark. You've also missed out £10m signing Lanzini.

So saying 'only money spent on wages' may be inaccurate to the tune of tens of millions.

Lucky your here to point out that when a player signs for us we have to pay him wages and maybe a signing on fee.

Again... Saying nothing for the sake of it.

Impressed with Fletcher and Quina or whatever he is called. They look players.

Not sure about hoarding wingers mind and whilst most attention is upon attackers my major gripe is with the defence and obviously the FB's. We need two right sided and at least one left, unless this is sorted rapido we are in the shit.

Ignoring what's been spent, I feel pretty underwhelmed so far.

Still got time to go though.

Have a look through the transfer thread and see the lungs that have been shit!

Re: 2 Free Transfers and a Loan
Yeah Alex, because players who sign for a fee don't get signing on fees.

You melon. And anyway, I thought you loved an out of contract player?

Looking at that list...the Watford player 'Isaac Success', what a name. Comes with an air of expectancy though...

Re: 2 Free Transfers and a Loan
How much money we have spent is irrelevant. Feghouli and Nordveldt both look decent.

The elusive striker hunt has been frustrating but not for the want of trying.

Things have got worse with Sakho sulking, then Cresswell and Lanzini getting injured. We're obviously short in quite a few positions.

Re: 2 Free Transfers and a Loan
Not sure why people are having a pop at what Alex V said (apart from because it's him who said it.)

The OP said "So only money spent on wages so far" when Lanzini's fee, tribunal fees for the 2 young strikers, Tore's loan fee plus agent fees for all the players who've come in have cost us well over £15m even before looking at signing on fees and wages.

LeroysBoots 2:17 Tue Aug 2
Re: 2 Free Transfers and a Loan
Seriously, how many more do you think we need ?

I'd say 5-7

2 forwards, 2 left backs and a right back, and maybe another midfielder

Re: 2 Free Transfers and a Loan
Even if it is the case, we've still improved the squad immensely with what we've brought over who we've let go.It only looks worrying because some core players are not back from their well deserved breaks and an to an important player and through no fault of our own one of our strikers is not being professional and behaving like a cunt.

But blame the owners it's easier, even though they are trying to very much upgrade on the stroppy striker and also bring in young talent at every opportunity.
